Site Redesign for The Cozy Moose Draws Experts’ Praise GAITHERSBURG, MD – AUGUST 26, 2002 – A website designed by NSI Partners has won accolades from a panel of web-design experts convened by Portland Monthly magazine. The panel touted the sleek design and smooth navigation NSI Partners provided to The Cozy Moose of Greenville, Maine (www.mooseheadcabins.com) as important factors in placing the site among the “Top 100 Websites in Maine.” “Vacation getaway site! Incredibly well designed and thought out,” writes panelist and web designer Jim Symonds in Portland Monthly magazine's May 2002 issue. “Beautiful pictures. Every aspect of travel and lodging is covered, and then some," writes Symonds. Symonds’ enthusiasm isn’t just hype. "We're getting a lot of positive response to the design,” says Heather Davis, owner of The Cozy Moose, a four-season vacation destination on Moosehead Lake. “Not only has traffic increased, but webmasters are linking to it just because it's a quality site,” Davis says. Davis engaged NSI Partners in 2001 to redesign the existing site to strengthen brand awareness and increase online reservations. She asked NSI to reorganize existing content, and make it easier for visitors to find accommodation and snowmobile-rental information. NSI designed a new website architecture and navigation, new logo and graphic elements, complemented by revised and focused content. “It was an exciting project,” says Todd Dawson, who headed the redesign effort for NSI. “We had an opportunity to transform a humble, home-grown site into the Maine vacation and tourist-attraction portal the owner envisioned.” Dawson and the NSI team worked to balance the site’s visual focus - intended to draw tourists to the scenic Maine vacation locale - with visitor-friendly navigation that helps users click through the site. “We wanted to highlight the lovely images of Moosehead Lake and The Cozy Moose rental cabins, while ensuring that visitors have easy access to the information needed to reserve a vacation at The Cozy Moose,” says Dawson. “It included showcasing the Moosehead Lake location, accommodations and amenities, snowmobiling rental options, and four-season recreational opportunities - all while keeping a close eye on budget realities.” In the end, NSI’s design not only exceeded the client’s expectations, but is having an impact on tourism for the entire Moosehead Lake region. “We’re thrilled with the big increase in site traffic - and reservations - since the new site went live last Fall,” says Heather Davis. “As a result, I recommend NSI Partners all the time.” NSI’s Todd Dawson isn’t too surprised to learn the makeover is a success. “Between Ms Davis’ marketing savvy and our design capabilities, I knew we’d be able to create an informative and memorable online experience,” he says. “But we're honored by the recognition that Portland Magazine has bestowed on us. Coming from a panel of our industry peers, that means a lot.” # # # About NSI Partners:
